Hello everyone and welcome.   HOT did send 3 teams to the international Petanque tournament in Lafayette.   What fun it took us about a 7 hours drive  from Austin TX to make it there and to start to witness the beauty of the Bayou.  After settling down in the hotel only about 10 minutes walk from the park.   We went to check out the courts, four of them had frames, the rest were (sauvage) style all around in the park.   Each court  had his individual challenge , nice diversity of styles to practice on each one of them.   We practiced for about 3 hours until we thought we had them in the palm of our  hand.   Then we went downtown to the French Press restaurant  where the organizers  had reserved  a room to welcome all the teams coming out of town.   The French Alliance represent were there, the Lafayette club members as well Bernard Champey was also there  multiple boule Lyonnaise champion.  Also  teams from Seattle and Oregon some players from Millau etc…  We got to mingled and meet everyone and speak French and  drink a glass of French wine.  The Louisiana welcome was in full action.   The next morning all teams gathered around 9:30 AM for the luck of the draw.    All went smoothly Bernard and  Karine  were was taking care of the registration table.  Included in the registration  everyone got a lunch ticket again the Louisiana welcome at his best.   And of we go almost non stop games after games until the final match. All our teams did well.    The ceremony of the Trophies celebration was all spoken in French.

The results were:

Amine Najah and Arsene Dupin First place from HOT

Laurent Vallee and Cyril Michel From Lafayette

Thierry Amisse and Ed Priest Third place from HOT
We all went to traditional Cajun restaurant and relax around some great seafood.
We be back next year
A + LOVE Arsene
