HOT NEWS! MEMBERS TRAVELING AROUND THE WORLD.

Hello everyone and welcome.

Jim Schwobel is continuing is lucky petanque tour in France.  He had two more adventures today!  in La Ciotat.  He went first to the he Boulodrome Jules Le Noir the birth of Petanque where he took some pictures and videos of himself  playing on the court. No one was there at first, then several club members arrived and were very gracious in showing me around – including lots of old boules and the original document with the first set of rules. They were not playing today but told him about the other club that was having a tournament today.  So he  went over to the Cercle des Boulomanes Ciotadens club and got into the tournament.

They pared him with an English guy, Raymond, they  won 2nd place out of 10 teams. The entry fee was 5 Euro and the Texan won his first 15 Euro in France yehaaaa. The terrain was fairly easy crushed limestone with very subtle hills and valleys. They did play  against very experienced local players but still managed to do good all the way to the final but  lost 13-7.  He got invited to go back to le Noir club tomorrow and play in a tournament. Saturday, the two clubs are having a dinner then a big tournament that afternoon, combining both clubs.  The Heart of Texas petanque club is making more and more connection  and friends from the source of the game, La Ciotat.  Sweet!
A+ love Arsene
