HOT NEWS! FPUSA CENTRAL REGION.

Hello everyone and welcome.

The San Antonio Petanque Club was founded in 2002  by Dr. Fernando Triana, a cardiologist.  He first learned the game traveling through Europe in his teens.  Once settled in San Antonio, he built petanque courts in his backyard to the surprise of the contractors who had no idea of what he was talking about, and he started to enjoy many games with his family on those gorgeous courts.  The first club registration included 10 members. His wife and four children accounted for six members and then four of his neighbors and friends.  Then one day in a restaurant, he met Michel Costa and they became petanque friends. Michel joined the club and petanque grew to include other petanque enthusiasts. On most Sundays, the Petanque Club can be found in Fernando’s backyard enjoying the game!!  I had  the great opportunity to go play on Fernando’s courts and what a great time it was!   It felt like I was on a court  in Provence.

By now Fernando has participated at many Tournaments  around the country.  When he first came to Austin to one of our first tournaments , we became friends instantly.    You can tell that his love for the game is a strong support for FPUSA.  Thank you Fernando,  for your dedication and promotion of the game.

A+ Love Arsene.
