HOT NEWS! 7TH ANNUAL HOT

Hello everyone and welcome,

Wow! Twenty-two  teams came to the 7th annual HOT Tournament.   Some came as far as Oregon.  We had so much fun that we runout of daylight, we had to have cars with lights on toward the piste to finish all of the finals.  Wow,talk about an Extravaganza weekend of petanque! The ambiance was fantastic in the fabulous setting of the Bloor Ranch. Thank you Linda and Jeffrey for building such an impressive petanque heaven and thank you for hosting us. The field was very impressive! But Amine Najah and Arsene remained focused until the end and won the 7th Annual against a familiar team of great players Nicolas Bienvenu and Michel Costa.  We started very slow and were trailing by 5/0, 6/0 but we stayed focused and came back slowly 6/1 and had a big play when we made 6 points came back and pass ahead 7/6 and keep on going to 13/8.  Wow again!  we did it!  A new competition record, that is the first time that a team wins three times the HOT tournament in the last seven years.  So with emotion we jumped  into each other arms congratulating ourselves.  As soon as the we finish packing everything a huge hail storm came in, driving on the way home was a challenge. But it wasn’t over yet the next morning we had to get up early again to prepare for the Annual Zaytouna Lounge.  Fourteen teams who wanted to fully experience the Extravaganza weekend signed up and showed up with smiles on their faces knowing that they will get to play more petanque.  Only one court was flooded from the storm the night before we got lucky the rest of them were playable.  The Dallas petanque club won Zaytouna. Cesar and Karim got the upper hand over Amine Najah and Arsene Dupin in the final. Congratulations to both.  Too bad we almost achieve the impossible winning both tournaments.  You have to have a lot stamina to participate at both tournaments. It is for sure an epic moment!  Two separate tournaments in two different locations in two days. On the first day, to make it to the finals at the HOT Tournament you have to play seven games on Saturday and to make it to the finals the next day at the Zaytouna Lounge you also have to play seven games on Sunday. Wow! It was a fantastic and successful weekend. Thank you to all of those who came from out of town and out of State and a major thank you to all HOT  members to help putting those two event together.   A+Love.  Arsene.
